Tina Gagliano Mandell

Senior Associate Attorney

Tina Gagliano Mandell joined McPherson Harry & Associates, P.C., P.C. in 2007 and currently heads the criminal defense and traffic law department of the new law firm McPherson Harry & Associates, P.C. She is also instrumental in advising clients, drafting legal documents and appearing in court in the area of family law. Tina’s unique perspective gained as a child of divorce, herself, allows her to be an effective representative for families going through this difficult time in their lives.

Tina earned her J.D. in 2006 from DePaul University College of Law, where she received her Certificate in Criminal Law. She obtained her B.A. in English and  Psychology, summa cum laude, from Eastern Illinois University in 2003. Tina began her legal career in 2003 through an internship with the Office of the Coles County Public Defender in downstate Illinois. Her experiences with the Public Defender’s Office led to her immediate enrollment at the DePaul University College of Law.

During the course of her legal studies, Tina gained hands-on experience in death penalty cases through her participation in the DePaul Center for Justice in Capital Cases. Through her work  at the clinic, she developed invaluable skills in researching case law, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and investigating and canvassing crime scenes. Additionally, the clinic provided her an opportunity to assist in the defense of former Illinois Gov. George H. Ryan. As a result of her hard work for the death penalty clinic, Tina was recognized with a CALI Award in 2005.

Tina was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2006 and admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2007.

Since then, Tina has been a fierce advocate for her clients in all areas of criminal defense and family law, including: Misdemeanor and Felony cases, DUI, Domestic Battery, Expungement , Divorce, Paternity, Child Custody and many more. A successful negotiator, she leverages her litigation experience to obtain favorable results for clients. She seeks the timely resolution of their matters through plea agreements and settlement negotiations.

She was instrumental in rewriting provisions of the expungement laws contained in the Illinois Criminal Identification Act. She is currently working to change the traffic laws pertaining to the misdemeanor charge of Aggravated Speeding and the severe penalties imposed by the law as it is currently written.
