The Kardashian divorce saga will be over soon based on a report by the Chicago Sun-Times. Kim Kardashian was married to Kris Humphries for just 72 days before she filed for divorce. This is a saga that has been going on since October of 2011.
Kardashian was quoted several times saying that she wants to have the divorce complete before she gives birth to the baby that she is carrying by her current beau, Kanye West. She just may get what she wants because the trial is set for May 6 of this year and is expected to last three to five days. She is scheduled to give birth sometime in July.
The point of contention between the two was the actual method that is used to dissolve the marriage. Humphries would like to simply have the marriage annulled because he feels that it was a sham. He states that he believes that Kim only married him for the sake of her popular show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Kim does deny the truth of this statement, saying that her intentions were genuine for Humphries and that she wants the matter settled through a divorce. This will be her second divorce.
Legal counsel for Kris Humphries has asked the court to postpone the trial until the basketball season is over. The court denied the request stating that if law enforcement officials can miss work for a trial, so can he. Marshall Waller, Humphries’ attorney, also filed paperwork to withdraw from the case. It is not clear why he did this as refused to entertain any queries on the matter. Waller also stated that he is still hoping to retrieve the 13,000 hours of Kim’s show to substantiate the fraud claim. However, at the time of the report, he still hadn’t even obtained an agreement to get the footage.
