Kathryn L. Harry & Associates, P.C. is excited to become a sponsor of the Wheaton Newcomers Club, a social organization serving over 125 local families and connecting residents in the towns of Wheaton, Winfield, and Warrenville, as well as the surrounding areas.

About the Wheaton Newcomers Club

The Newcomers Club is not only for people who have recently moved to the area. The group consists of both new and long-time residents of Wheaton, Winfield, and Warrenville, and includes working women, stay-at-home moms, as well as both singe and married women of all ages.

The goal of the Newcomers Club is to help in meeting the needs of all local families by connecting area women and helping to build lifelong friendships. The club keeps all of its members informed about local resources and fun things to do in the area. In addition, members have access to discounts on goods and services from local businesses. Kathryn L. Harry & Associates, P.C. is proud to sponsor the club in its ongoing efforts to provide many free and inexpensive activities for women, adults and their families.

The Wheaton Newcomers Club is very active, with multiple events every week. Some examples include weekly playgroups for moms with kids, Bunco nights, co-ed social nights, co-ed intramural sports, crafting groups and fitness groups.

A long list of local attractions is available on the club's website and there are extensive networking opportunities, for those focused on buying and using local products and services to hep support the local economy. Members work together to support each other, and small local businesses can advertise in the Members Business Directory at no cost. The club even supports the barter economy with buy/sell/trade listings to promote the concepts of reduce and reuse in the community.

The Newcomers Club Helps Others

More than just a social club, the Wheaton Newcomers also uses their time and talents to help others in the community. Kathryn L. Harry & Associates, P.C.'s sponsorship will assist the club's ongoing efforts to make a difference in the lives of local families.

The Newcomers Club has coordinated fundraising and volunteer opportunities in the community since its inception. Some of these activities include:

• Supporting literacy by donating 1,335 children's books to Literacy DuPage and Jefferson Early Childhood Education Center
• Supporting families through the holiday season by donating Christmas presents to the Humanitarian Service Project
• Volunteering at local events including the Outreach Community Ministries' Christmas Store and at the Taste of Wheaton.
• Raising more than $350 to assist families in times of great stress at the Ronald McDonald House

In addition, throughout the year, the Newcomers Club Ways and Means and Community Outreach committees organize dozens of events such as donation drives, fundraisers, and opportunities for community volunteering.
