Stevie Wonder Files For Divorce

Posted on February 26, 2013 in Divorce

People released a story first reported by TMZ.com about legendary musician Stevie Wonder filing for divorce last year. Wonder has been married to fashion designer Kai Millard Morris for 11 years.

The papers Wonder filed in Los Angeles Superior Court reveal that he has been separated from Morris for over three years, since October 2009.

The couple has two sons, ages 7 and 10. Wonder's divorce papers cite irreconcilable differences and request joint custody of their two sons. Wonder has approached the matter with dignity from the start, immediately saying he will pay both spousal and child support. Stevie Wonder, whose legal name is Stevland Morris, has been married once before, making this his second marriage. Wonder has a total of seven children from his two marriages and other relationships.

Wonder is known for his long and successful musical career that started when he was 11, and continued with him hitting the charts by 13. Billboard magazine listed him as the fifth hottest artist of all time back in 2008.

According to the story, Wonder is going Hollywood on his divorce, getting himself a lawyer whose former clients include Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, and Robyn Gibson.
